Every cookie and what it's for

Thumblox uses a few cookies and browser storage items to keep you logged in and make the site work. Here's each one, how long it lasts and why.

This is a draft that will be reviewed before Thumblox opens to the public.

What we set

Each one is needed for Thumblox to work, or is part of the security check on the log in page. None of them are for analytics or ads.

  • Name
    sb-<project>-auth-token
Long sessions are split into .0, .1 and so on.
    Kind:
    Essential cookie
    How long:
Until you log out, up to 400 days
    What it's for
Keeps you logged in. Set by Supabase, which runs our log in.
  • Name
    sb-<project>-auth-token-code-verifier
Plus a few related ones while a log in is in progress.
    Kind:
    Essential cookie
    How long:
    While you log in
    What it's for
A one-time code that checks the log in finishes in the same browser that started it.
  • Name
    tb_consent
    Kind:
    Essential cookie
    How long:
    15 minutes
    What it's for
Carries your age and Terms answer through a Google or Discord log in. It holds a signed yes, not your birth date.
  • Name
    tb_age_block
    Kind:
    Essential cookie
    How long:
    24 hours
    What it's for
Set after an under-13 answer, so the sign-up form stays closed on this device for a day.
  • Name
    Cloudflare Turnstile
    Kind:
    Third party, security
    How long:
    Set by Cloudflare
    What it's for
Runs the quick bot check on the log in page. It loads from Cloudflare, which may store its own data to run the check.
  • Name
    tb:logo-dropped
    Kind:
    Session storage
    How long:
    Until you close the tab
    What it's for
Plays the logo animation only once per visit. Holds nothing about you.
  • Name
    tb:pending-build
    Kind:
    Local storage
    How long:
    Up to 24 hours
    What it's for
Keeps an idea you typed before logging in, so it's waiting in the workspace. Cleared once it's used.

No analytics or ad cookies

Thumblox doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies, so there's no banner asking you to accept them. If we ever want to add any, we'll ask you first and list them here.

Turning them off

You can block or clear cookies and site data in your browser's settings. If you block the essential ones, logging in won't work.

Clearing local storage only drops an idea you typed before logging in.
